Olivia Farnsworth, a nine-year-old girl, from Huddersfield, can survive without sleep or food. She also feels no pain and has been dubbed “bionic” by medical experts.
According to her mother, Niki Trepak, this girl is “made of steel.”
This strange disorder allows Olivia to go five to six days without food and sleep. She is believed to be the only person in the world who has all three symptoms together.
What Is Chromosome 6 Deletion?
It is a congenital condition in which the chromosome is deleted during the process of cell division. There are microscopic bodies known as chromosomes inside the nucleus of each body cell. They are responsible for the function and reproduction of each cell in our body, allowing us to live.
Chromosomes are made of two large molecules of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA). These strands are called genes, giving the instructions that control the cell’s function and reproduction. In other words, genes control everything to make us live.
In human beings, each cell contains 23 pairs of chromosomes, from a total of 46. Twenty-two of these pairs, called autosomes, look the same in both males and females.
The 23rd pair, the sex chromosomes, differs between males and females. Females contain two copies of the X chromosome, while males have one X and one Y chromosome.
Chromosomal deletion results from the loss of parts of chromosomes.
However, chromosomal deletion syndromes usually involve larger deletions or a total pair deletion that are visible on the karyotyping test.
There are numerous diseases and disabilities associated with a single pair of chromosome deletions or loss of the specific genes-function.
Olivia’s Chromosome 6(the building material of DNA) is totally deleted that usually spans more than 170 million base pairs. It signifies between 5.5 and 6% of the total DNA in cells.
The major portion of chromosome 6 is linked with the immune system. The immune system provides power to the organism to fight against any infections. We can feel pain whenever a signal to the brain is given from the affected part of our body.

In 2016, when Olivia was 7 years old, she went out with her mother and got run over. Eventually, she was hit by a car and dragged about 100 feet down the road.
After that terrible accident, she just got up and started walking back to her mother. She was just like, “What’s going on?”
Because of the collision, she should have had severe injuries. She had a tire mark on her chest. Her only injuries were she had no skin on her toe or her hip.
Niki also stated that Olivia once fell badly and ripped her lip off. She didn’t say anything to her parents. Later, she had to get plastic surgery to fix it.
The doctors started thinking about what saved her from injury. The mother-of-five kids said the signs of Olivia’s condition started when she was just a few months old.
Olivia Farnsworth’s case mystified doctors. They admitted that it is a rare disorder in medical history.
Getting Olivia to eat properly is also a big challenge for her mother because she doesn’t get hungry. According to Niki, she lived on butter sandwiches for about a year.
Although she’s a joyful child most of the time, Niki said that she could suffer from violent outbursts from time to time.
The mother-of-five kids said Olivia head-butted, kicked, and punched her, which can be embarrassing if they’re out in public.
Is Olivia Farnsworth Superhuman?
Most people believe that Olivia is superhuman, but she is not. However, she is different from us. A former research biologist, Dr. Beverly Searle said this is the super rare case.
Ms Trepak is now raising awareness about chromosome 6 problems. She has been backed by the chromosome disorder support group Unique.
On the worldwide database, there are just 100 people with the ‘6p’ chromosome disorder. She is the only person who has all three symptoms of “no pain, sleep, and hunger.”
